How do I open a Wealth Accelerator account online?

In this guide, we cover the steps required to open a Netwealth Wealth Accelerator account as a client. We'll walk you through the process from initiating account creation on the website to completing the application form. Whilst the process is very similar for a Netwealth Super Accelerator account, this guide is tailored specifically for Wealth Accelerator. 

Important Notice

This article describes one of two ways to open a Wealth Accelerator account online. This way of opening a Wealth Accelerator account online will be discontinued on 8 May 2026. Advisers can still use the express application process to open Wealth Accelerator accounts online for their clients. From 31 May 2026, all application forms generated from the feature on this page will also not be accepted.

 

Before you start

Before beginning the application process, ensure you have the following details ready:

  • Personal information (name, email address, etc.),
  • SMSF account details if applicable (trust name, corporate trustee, TFNs, ABN, ACNs, etc.), and
  • Certified photo ID for each signatory on the account. 

 

Step 1: Visit the Netwealth website and register your details as a new user.

  1. Navigate to www.netwealth.com.au.
  2. Hover over the "Open an Account" button located in the top right-hand corner of the screen and click on "As an Investor".
  3. Enter your first name, last name, email address, the type of account you wish to open (Wealth Accelerator) and complete the CAPTCHA security checkbox.
  4. Click "Continue".
  5. On the next page, input your basic details, including title, gender, date of birth, state of residence, and mobile number. Ensure to select "I am an investor."
  6. Create a secure password, ensuring it meets the specified requirements.
  7. Click "Register".
  8. An email will be sent to you with your registration details, including your username and instructions for logging in.
Netwealth accounts must have an email to be valid accounts. This email address must be the clients and cannot be the financial advisers.

 

Step 2: Collect your username to log in

  1. Check your email inbox for a welcome email from contact@netwealth.com.au.
  2. The email will contain your username and instructions for logging into your account.

 

Step 3: Log in to Netwealth and begin the application

  1. Return to www.netwealth.com.au.
  2. Click on "Login" located in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. Click "Login" to access your account.
  5. Once logged in, from the main menu click on "Open an Account" and select "Wealth Accelerator".

 

Step 4: Choose account designation and fill out details

  1. Choose the account type (Wealth Accelerator Plus or Wealth Accelerator Core).
  2. Choose the account designation type (e.g., Individual, SMSF, Trust with Corporate Trustee).
  3. Fill out personal details for yourself and additional signatories.
  4. Provide trust account details, including trust name, corporate trustee, TFNs, ABN, ACNs, etc.

 

Step 5: Add optional account details and instructions

  1. Choose whether you would like to use the Premium Service for certified wholesale investors.
  2. Add your bank details, nominate a Power of Attorney (if applicable), and setup other banking options.
You can add all sections on this page to your account once it has been opened.

 

Step 6: Select investment options

  1. Choose an amount to initially invest and a payment method.
  2. Add any managed fund(s) or managed model(s) you would like to invest into as part of your application. 
Investments can be lodged online once your account is open if it is preferred.

Notes:

  • The application cannot be saved and must be completed in one session.
  • You can provide your tax file number and banking details at a later stage. 

 

Step 5: Review, print & sign your application

  1. Review the application summary for accuracy.
  2. Make any necessary adjustments and press "Confirm" to proceed.
  3. Download the PDF of the application form available on the confirmation page and print it.
  4. Sign the application in the indicated areas.
  5. Return the signed application to Netwealth by email at contact@netwealth.com.au or by post to PO Box 336, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia.
  6. You will receive an email notification once your account has been established.
