This article covers instructions for the purchase or sale of domestic assets. For international assets please refer to How do I place limit orders online?
What this article covers:

- Submit the buy and sell instructions

Step 2: Determine how your purchases will be paid for
From the 'Invest using' drop down, select one of the following options:
Option |
Description |
Available cash (default) | Use available cash to pay for asset purchases. |
A specific amount | Select a maximum amount of available cash to pay for asset purchases. This amount can be greater than the available cash amount, however the trade will not happen until there is enough cash in the account. |
Proceeds of sale | Use the proceeds from any proposed asset sales to pay for asset purchases. |
Available cash and proceeds of sale | Use available cash plus the proceeds from any proposed asset sales to pay for asset purchases. |
Pro-rata | Set a fixed total sales amount, and the selected assets will sell down at the percentage they are held. |
Any requests to buy investments where additional cash is required to complete the transaction will be held until you have sufficient available cash. Additional cash may become available when your sell requests are completed, by you selling additional investment or by further deposits or contributions being made into the account.
