How do I release/remove a client?

This article is intended for use by Adviser Representatives only and is provided for adviser operational purposes. It is not designed for, and must not be relied on by, clients. Clients should not act on the information in this article and should contact their Adviser Representative or Netwealth at contact@netwealth.com.au for information relevant to their circumstances.

Step 1: Navigate to client fees

You have the ability to release clients from your Netwealth portfolio and Licensee. To do so select the client you would like removed and navigate using the main menu to Client Details > Fees > Release Client.

Step 2: Release the client

Tick 'yes' to agree to release the client and linked accounts from your adviser code and Licensee.

Step 3: Submit the release

Once you submit the release, a summary screen will appear for confirmation. Once the accounts have been released you will no longer have authority to transact or enquire on their behalf and all fees will be removed.

A confirmation letter will be sent to the client notifying them they have been removed from their current adviser.

There is no way to reverse this once the request has been processed. The adviser/client would need to fill out a new Change of Adviser and a fee consent if they want to be added back as the adviser.
Netwealth cannot accept instructions to remove/release a client over the phone from an adviser. Email instructions can be accepted.
