Who are property feeds provided by?
Domain is a leading property technology and services business that is home to one of the largest portfolios of property brands in Australia. Property data is sourced from Australian Property Monitors, part of the Domain Group. APM is one of the largest property information providers in Australia and the trusted source of property information for many leading banking institutions and property professionals across the country. APM collect and manages data from a range of property-based data and imagery sources, including Government agencies, industry professionals, mapping providers and many public and private databases across Australia.
How frequently is my property value updated?
Property data is retrieved from Domain monthly, at the start of the month.
How is my estimated property value calculated
The estimated value is the middle price estimate of the property provided by Domain. Price estimates are refreshed monthly and provide a guide of the approximate market value for the property. They are calculated using numerous sources, including publicly available data, Domain’s price estimate model and sometimes information given to Domain by home owners. They are also based on the most recent sales data for the property, and other comparable homes. Estimates can be less accurate if the property is unique with nothing to compare it to in the area, or if there is little public record data. You can also get an appraisal from a local expert, for a better understanding of your property’s value.
Can I enter my own estimated value for my property?
Yes, if you prefer to use your own custom value for the property you can simply enter a value in the ‘Custom value’ field when you go to ‘Edit details’ for your property. This custom value will replace the estimated value retrieved from Domain on your dashboard. You will still be able to view Domain’s estimated value when you hover over the tooltip against your property.
What does the Confidence level associated with my property mean?
Domain only provides price estimates that qualify as either “High” or “Medium” confidence. Estimated values are accompanied with a ‘confidence’ tag, which is based on how much relevant information is available to Domain to produce the price estimate. When you see a ‘High Confidence’ tag displayed, it means there is a large amount of recent and relevant data on the property and that Domain is quite confident this estimate is very accurate. When you see a ‘Medium Confidence’ tag displayed, it means Domain doesn’t have as much recent data required to display a ‘High Confidence’ tag, and the estimate will be less accurate. ‘No estimate available’ will be displayed when there is insufficient data for a ‘Medium Confidence’ estimate. Other statuses include 'Recently sold', 'Pending review' or 'Flagged for review'.
What happens to my data when I delete my bank and property feeds?
When you delete an external bank feed or property feed, we will purge all related data.
